About craniosacral therapy
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle and caring approach to self-care, promoting complete body relaxation and inner calm. It nurtures healthy self-love, fosters trust in our intuition and supports following our true potential. By harmoniously connecting body, mind and soul, it builds strong inner resources to rely on in times of difficulty. It also helps to uncover ancient traumas, allowing them to be sensitively healed at a deep level and gudied toward health.
The holistic approach of craniosacral therapy makes it suitable for a wide range of psychological and physical issues, whether it´s pain of various origins, skin and neurological conditions, hormonal imbalances or chronic diseases. For pregnant women, it helps them to connect with their baby and prepare for childbirth, while supporting adjustment to life with a new family member. It is also popular with children of all ages, helping with eczema, growing pains, learning and coordination difficulties, and recovery after injuries. Craniosacral therapy can even play a role at the end of life, helping with acceptance, letting go, and facilitating a conscious passing.
It is a non-invasive therapy that can be combined with conventional treatment, and its effects deepen with repeated sessions.
How does the therapy work?
Therapy begins with an initial interview, during which clients have space to talk about themselves and what troubles them.
If the client doesn´t feel up to it, I don´t need any specific information during the session.
The treatment itself then takes place on the couch. During the session, the client lies comfortably on their back, fully dressed, and may be covered with a blanket and supported with pillows. For back pain or during pregnancy, lying on the side or sitting is preferred. The session is usually quiet, with gentle touch to help the body relax and release tension. Deep relaxation helps kick-start the body’s natural regeneration and healing processes. Talking is possible if needed, but most of the discussion happens during the final supportive chat. After the session, I recommend taking the rest of the day to rest and let the effects of the therapy settle.
For young children, the treatment takes place through play, painting, storytelling or reading a story - on a carpet or on a bed. For the tiniest ones, it can be done in their parents´ arms.
